Comment – A tale of two commissions

The recent debate within the European Commission on the CO2 emissions from cars demonstrates that the Barroso commission gets cold feet when the real decisions have to be taken. Lots of declarations in the energy-climate change package presented on 10 January but then not having the guts to be consistent in its own decisionmaking.
