On the IPCC report on climate change
4 February, 2007
Here are some of the better comments i have found on the new IPCC evaluation:
- UK’s chief scientific advisor David King: “We cannot let the Kyoto debacle happen again” (The Guardian)
- UK environment minister David Miliband: “Kyoto can be made to work” (Newsweek)
Feel free to alert me to other interesting reactions.
Former environment commissioner Margot Wallström writes on her blog the following: “It is also sad to see that political leaders have woken up so late to these problems and that they might listen more to shortsighted economic arguments than taking tough decisions for the longterm sustainability of this planet.”
Have they really woken up, Margot? Wait until your colleagues are caught by the next wave of “competitiveness fever”.
